23 Best March Honeymoon Destinations
To break down this list further, I’ve organized these best honeymoon destinations for March into categories like best US honeymoon destinations in March, where to honeymoon in the Caribbean and Central America, top honeymoon spots in Europe, and where to find adventure and romance.
March Honeymoon Destinations in the USA
Let’s kick off where to honeymoon in March in the US!
1. Savannah, Georgia
Want to beat the extreme summertime heat, yet still be able to enjoy lovely weather and spring flowers? Then, you’re going to fall head over heels for Savannah, Georgia this time of year.
Not only is this a stunningly beautiful town, but it is a foodie one, meaning you’ll absolutely enjoy wandering around the city and partaking in some scrumptious meals together.
Places like The Grey in Savannah serve up upscale Southern cuisine, and for the ultimate comfort food, definitely stop by Mrs. Wilkes’s Dining Room for some fried chicken and fixins’.
Aside from the food scene, you’ll love wandering around the beautiful city squares that have fountains, flowers, and even historic buildings lining it.
And once you’ve had your fill of this amazing city, you may want to take a day trip or save a couple of days to explore nearby Tybee Island!
For a romantic hotel stay in Savannah, opt for the Kehoe House. It is located on Columbia Square in the heart of the historic district. Plus, this adults-only hotel offers special things to guests like free wine and hor d’oeuvres in the evening, desserts, and a full breakfast daily.

2. Austin, Texas is One of the Best March Honeymoon Destinations in the US
Another place that is perfect to visit in March for its cooler temperatures than in summertime, Austin is a great spot for kayaking, scooting around town, and more delicious food.
Again, the food scene here is sublime with tasty tacos, BBQ, and more! Aside from that, this is an incredible place for kayaking on Lady Bird Lake to take in an epic sunset and perhaps catch the Mexican Free-tailed bats coming out from under Congress Bridge.
You can also enjoy hiking in the area, exploring Barton Springs Pool, and visiting Zilker Botanical Garden.
If you want to have a night on the town together, opt for places like Sixth Street, Rainey Street, or Red River.
Also, for festival lovers, South by Southwest takes place in March!
For a hotel stay, check out the Austin Proper Hotel with its great location, many restaurants, spa, and lovely pool. You’ll feel relaxed in between exploring the city.
3. Miami, Florida
Many places in the continental US are still too chilly for a warm beachy vacation in March. However, Miami is actually a great place to go on a honeymoon in March for its warmer weather.
This city has beautiful beaches for a relaxing vacation. But, being a large and exciting city, there is plenty to get up to when you wish.
Take a food tour of Little Havanna to enjoy some delicious cuisine, visit Wynwood Walls, the largest open-air street art installation in the world, and party it up during a honeymoon in Miami.
The options are truly endless. And if you want to cool off and get out of the sun, there are ample spas like the Standard Spa that’ll leave you both refreshed and relaxed.
For your perfect Miami honeymoon getaway, opt for The Edition, a modern boutique hotel with 2 ocean-facing pools, and a beach club.
4. Joshua Tree National Park, California
Feel like you’re in your own little world with a honeymoon stay in Joshua Tree National Park. You can book a stay at a VRBO rental with a hot tub for a charming and romantic getaway, or you can even stay at a spa hotel nearby like Azure Palm Hot Springs.
You’ll enjoy relaxing and treating yourself in between going for hikes around Joshua Tree National Park. Catch an epic sunrise over the Cholla Cactus Garden, a sunset at Key’s View, and even admire the stars together with Joshua Trees’ vibrant night-sky.
Either way, there are so many romantic things to do in Joshua Tree and the nearby area.
And being in the desert, March is a fabulous time to visit for sunny days but not excess heat. Plus, it isn’t terribly crowded this time of year, making it a fun destination to feel as if you’re in your own little bubble together.
Best Honeymoon Destinations in March in the Caribbean and Central America
Planning to head to the Caribbean or Central America for your honeymoon in March? Well, you’re in luck! This part of the world is a fabulous place to go this time of year. So here are some top Caribbean honeymoon destinations to go to in March.
5. Grenada
Just like in my February honeymoon destinations guide, Grenada also makes the list of top March honeymoon destinations.
Okay, we know the Caribbean is best to visit between December and March for its sunnier weather, but Grenada needs another mention for March for its sheer beauty.
Of course, there are iconic beaches to enjoy during your time there, as well as crystal clear Caribbean water, but Grenada is a lover’s paradise for its dreamy waterfalls and epic hiking opportunities too.
Plus, there are some great all-inclusive resorts, such as the Spice Island Beach Resort on the beautiful Grand Anse Beach. And if you love Sandals, there is the Sandals Grenada resort as well.
Basically, you get the best of both worlds in Grenada. You can have that all-inclusive beachside, relaxing getaway, but you can also book fun excursions to go hiking, snorkeling, and exploring all this island has to offer.
6. The Bahamas
Another fantastic Caribbean honeymoon destination has to be The Bahamas. This place also offers a bit of adventure with some relaxing romance during your honeymoon.
You could certainly splurge on a nice resort and lounge by the pool and sea all day if you wish, but if you want to explore, there are ample things to do here!
Go swim with pigs in Exuma, head to the Blue Holes National Park for snorkeling and hiking, and perhaps taste some rum at John Watling’s Distillery.
And for the daring, you can also go swimming with sharks on a tour in Compas Cay Exuma. Don’t worry, they’re nurse sharks which are docile!
For a luxe experience, stay at the Rosewood Baha Mar in Nassau. This place has 3 beautiful pools and sits along Cable Beach, one of The Bahamas’ best beaches.
7. Belize
Belize may be a small country, but whew-it has so much to offer! You can enjoy snorkeling or diving in the Belize Barrier Reef, the 2nd largest reef system in the world!
You can also explore the epic Blue Hole, hike amongst Mayan ruins, eat delicious food, go ziplining, or even explore caves on a tubing adventure!
It seriously has so much and more. And, being such a small country, you can base yourself in one place and go on day trips in between to see these things!
We stayed in Hopkins during our last visit, and we loved the beachside resort of Hopkins Bay Resort, but for a honeymoon, I highly recommend staying at Thatch Caye Resort for a private all-inclusive island getaway!

8. Costa Rica is One of the Best March Honeymoon Destinations
Another fantastic Central American country to visit in March, you’ll definitely fall head over heels for Costa Rica.
Between the diverse wildlife, amazing coffee, stunningly beautiful beaches, and epic adventures, a honeymoon in Costa Rica is sure to please.
Enjoy popular destinations like La Fortuna for hot springs and ziplining, and perhaps head over to Monteverde to admire the cloud forest.
Then, you can learn to surf at one of many beaches or just relax and enjoy the sunshine while living that Pura Vida.
Or you can head to the mountains in the central part of the country to sample delicious coffee on a coffee farm and perhaps head to see a volcano.
Or, for wildlife lovers, you’ll love the chance to spot both aquatic and land animals in places like the Osa Peninsula or Manuel Antonio.
For an epic remote getaway along the Golfo Dulce and Osa Peninsula area, check out Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. We loved our stay here with its open-air cabins, secluded beach, and amazing hiking and adventuring opportunities!

9. Panama
Thought that Costa Rica and Belize were the only adventurous and romantic destinations in Central America? Think again. While all the countries there certainly have much to offer, there is something about Panama that you’ll love.
For starters, it is a little less traveled than places like Belize and Costa Rica. But here is where you can enjoy adventures like diving and snorkeling, whale watching, hiking to lovely waterfalls, wandering through coffee farms, and more!
Head to a place like Boquete for the chance to climb natural waterfalls, ride rapids on the Chiriqui Viejo River, enjoy fresh coffee, and even visit Caldera Hot Springs!
For beaches and relaxation, head to Guna Yala (formerly known as San Blas) for eco-friendly lodging and stunning water. Or perhaps you’ll love exploring the beach town of Coronado.
And then, of course, you must check out Panama City and then see the Panama Canal.
For a lovely place to stay, opt for Los Establos Boutique Hotel in Boquete. With views of the surrounding mountains, you’ll find tranquility and luxury at this place.
10. Turks and Caicos
If your dream honeymoon includes relaxing and enjoying some of the most breathtakingly beautiful beaches on the planet, then look no further than Turks and Caicos.
This laid-back March honeymoon destination has many direct flights from the US and Canada, making it a fantastic place where you can fly in the morning and land just in time for a beachside lunch.
Spend your honeymoon in paradise as you swim, snorkel, kayak, sunbathe, and just enjoy all the perfect white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters in this dreamy destination.
For a romantic getaway, stay at The Palms Turks and Caicos, which is located on Grace Bay Beach, one of the finest beaches in the world.
11. Antigua
Another amazing beachy locale in the Caribbean for your honeymoon is Antigua. You can do as much or as little as you like in this destination. So, if you want to get out and explore the town of Saint John’s you can, as well as explore the rock formations at Devil’s Bridge National Park.
You can also snorkel or hike to your heart’s content, or, if you want to relax post-nuptials, this is the place to do it.
Enjoy time on the beach relaxing in the sunshine and cooling off in those crystal clear waters.
This is also a great island for all-inclusive resorts, with the Sandals Grande Antigua or the stunning Hermitage Bay resorts being on this island ready for your romantic getaway.
Honeymoon Destinations in Europe in March
Okay, so most of Europe isn’t exactly the place to go for a warm, beachy getaway during the month of March. But for those who want to explore lovely cities with fewer crowds, or perhaps those who want to catch the end of ski season, you’ve come to the right place.
12. Rome, Italy is One of the Best March Honeymoon Destinations
I mean, is there ever a bad time to visit Rome for your honeymoon? The capital of Italy is full of charm and romance from its ancient sites to its delectable cuisine.
Wander the streets of Rome early in the morning and watch as the city comes to life over a cappuccino together. Go on a tour of the Vatican when it opens to admire the Sistine Chapel and other artworks.
Toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain and walk inside the Colosseum and Roman Forum to discover more from ancient Rome.
Take in a sunset from a rooftop bar and grab an apertivo before an enchanting dinner al fresco. You can’t go wrong with a lovely honeymoon in Rome.
And March is a fabulous time to go to avoid the summertime heat…and crowds.
A stay at Hotel Artemide will pamper you with its luxurious rooms, spa with a sauna, Turkish bath, and hot tub, plus its rooftop bar.
PS- Check out how much an Italy honeymoon costs and how to plan the perfect Italy honeymoon itinerary.
13. St. Moritz, Swiss Alps
Want to catch the end of the ski season in one of the most beautiful places on Earth? Then, you’re going to want to check out the Swiss Alps.
Stay in a place like St. Moritz for fabulous skiing, amazing restaurants, incredible views, and luxury hotels. No, this honeymoon isn’t for those on a budget, but it is an incredible adventure for two.
Book a stay at the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel with beautiful rooms and suites with views overlooking the lake or village. This 5-star resort can even help you plan your ski honeymoon with their Luxury Ski Break package including daily breakfast, a ski pass, Rolls–Royce transfers to and from the train station, butler service, and access to the wellness area.
And to relax those sore muscles after a day on the slopes? You’ll want to book a treatment at their spa.
While on the slopes, you’ll love spending the day skiing and enjoying some sun and apres-ski dining and drinks.
14. Gran Canaria, Spain
If you’re searching for a warm destination in March in Europe, this is your best bet. Located off the coast of Africa, the Canary Islands have warmer weather year-round, making it a great place to escape the chill in the month of March for your honeymoon.
Gran Canaria is great in March as it isn’t super warm just yet, but the daily average sunshine hours are rising, rainfall is decreasing, and temperatures are perfect for hiking and exploring the island! And yes, it may even be warm enough for a swim!
On Gran Canaria, you can enjoy things like exploring the villages of Tejeda and Firgas, hiking up Roque Nublo, wandering the streets of Les Palmas, enjoying the Dunes of Maspalomas, and, of course, relaxing on some seriously stunning beaches around the island.
Want to spoil yourself during your stay in sunny Gran Canaria? Check out the Hotel Riu Palace Meloneras for its lovely pool overlooking the ocean, and rooms with views, and it is close the the main attractions in the area, including the beach.
15. Santorini, Greece is a Great Place to Honeymoon in March
While this may not be the place for swimming this time of year, you can enjoy beautiful Santorini without the huge crowds that descend upon the island around summertime.
Yes, there will still be cruise ships coming in during the day, but you’ll have fewer crowds so you can enjoy activities like exploring the various beaches on the island-including a black sand beach and a red sand beach.
There is also the option to go wine tasting, as Santorini is known for its delicious wine, and you have to catch an epic sunset over the Aegean Sea. Although many crowd around in Oia to witness this, you can also just book a luxe hotel that overlooks the sea to enjoy this magnificent view without the crowds.
Andronis Luxury Suites offers beautiful views from each suite, and you may even catch some of those epic sunset colors from your room or at the restaurant. Or, they can arrange a sunset cruise for you!
PS- Check out the ultimate Greece itinerary in 7 days!
16. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is yet another great place to explore during your honeymoon. For starters, this beautiful city is split into two sections (Buda and Pest) by the stunning Danube River.
I highly recommend taking a sunset cruise along the Danube, where you can see the city lit up at night, especially the Hungarian Parliament Building.
During the day, you’ll love exploring the main sites like Fisherman’s Bastian, Buda Castle, St Stephen’s Basilica, Central Market Hall, the ruin pubs, the Szechenyi Chain Bridge, Hero’s Square, and Nepliget Park.
And for a day trip option, you can even check out the nearby wineries in Etyek.
One thing that is a must-do in Budapest is to visit a bathhouse or two to soak in their healing waters and perhaps indulge in spa treatments.
I loved Rudas Baths in Budapest, complete with saunas, and multiple baths, including a traditional Turkish bath and a rooftop hot tub overlooking the Danube. This is the perfect place to relax for a day together.
Check out how to spend 2 days in Budapest or 4 days in Budapest!
For a romantic hotel, stay at the Aria Hotel Budapest. This place has a spa, pool, and free afternoon wine and cheese for guests. Plus, there is a rooftop lounge and relaxing bedrooms.
17. Barcelona, Spain
Want to explore the architecture, culture, art, and food in one of the best cities in Spain? Then Barcelona is a great place to visit!
Lovers of architecture and design will fall in love with visiting Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, which are great examples of Antoni Gaudi’s work.
There are also some great museums to visit including the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, the Picasso Museum, and Guell Palace, plus fantastic shopping at the Mercado de La Boqueria market, or you can even catch a FC Barcelona game at Camp Nou if you’re lucky.
Wander around places like La Rambla and the Gothic Quarter, and definitely take a fun tapas walking tour complete with food, wine, and history.
Either way, you’ll want to book a stay at The One Barcelona. This place has a rooftop lounge, a fantastic spa with a sauna and pool, and lovely rooms.
Best Romantic Destinations For a Honeymoon in March For A Bit of Adventure
Okay, we’ve discussed some fantastic places for the beach, exciting cities, and beautiful islands. But let’s dive into places that are uber gorgeous, and perhaps adventurous for your romantic March honeymoon.
18. Cape Winelands, South Africa
South Africa truly has our hearts. We’ve been to South Africa twice and fall more in love with it each time. Between epic safaris, charming beach towns, delectable wineries, and exciting cities like Johannesburg and Cape Town, you’ll love a honeymoon here too.
But March isn’t necessarily the best time for a safari in Kruger National Park in South Africa. However, it is a fabulous time of year to check out the beaches, explore Cape Town… and sip delicious wine in the Cape Winelands.
I’m not saying you can’t combine your visit to South Africa and the Cape Winelands with a safari, just know that it is rainier up north in Kruger! Either way, you’ll want to book a stay for several nights in the Cape Winelands to admire the beautiful mountain scenery and taste some of the world’s best wine.
Sip Pinotage, a uniquely South African grape varietal, and wander through vineyards as you explore Stellenbosch. Take the Franschhoek Wine Tram to hop on and hop off at various wineries in the area, and perhaps book a private tour to take you to Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl.
You’ll love the sights, sounds, and flavors of this part of the world! For a dreamy stay, check out the La Cotte Farm in Franschhoek and book a little cottage with a pool for your honeymoon.

19. Dubai
Dubai has it all when it comes to romance and luxury. Dubai is a place where you can shop for luxury goods and spices alike. You can explore Old Dubai markets and food one day and go on a desert safari and camel ride the next.
You can stroll through the Dubai Miracle Garden or even marvel at the Museum of the Future. And you can even enjoy snorkeling on a day trip from Dubai or just relax at the many beautiful spas in the city.
Between the food, epic sightseeing, and ultimate luxury, you can find pretty much anything in Dubai. So for the ultimate luxurious and romantic getaway, you’ll want to head to this city.
What makes Dubai so special in March is the weather is definitely warm and dry, but it isn’t quite as unbearable as later spring and summer.
For a luxe stay, opt for the Burj Al Arab. This place is well-known for its over-the-top service and amenities like the man-made beach and infinity pool terrace, ultimate rejuvenating spa, and amazing rooms and suites with a view.
20. Thailand is an Epic Honeymoon Destination in March
Thailand is a popular honeymoon destination and it isn’t hard to see why. Between the incredible islands and beaches, the electric city of Bangkok, beautiful mountain spots like Chiang Mai, and lush jungles, there are ample things to do in Thailand.
March falls in the midst of the dry season, which means days here will be a bit more comfortable and slightly cooler. Sunshine is more common this time of year, and you can enjoy things like hiking in jungles, exploring cities, and cruising around islands without the intense rain.
For an epic 10-day Thai honeymoon, I recommend visiting Chiang Mai, doing some day trips from there like to Elephant Nature Park or a cooking class, going to Koh Lipe for a romantic and beautiful Thai island getaway, and exploring Bangkok.
For the perfect hotel in Koh Lipe, book a stay at Ten Moons Lipe Resort. This place offers bungalows on the beach, where you can literally run from your front porch into the ocean for a swim in the clear waters.
Check out the perfect Thailand honeymoon budget, the ultimate Thailand honeymoon guide, and the perfect 3-week Southeast Asia itinerary.
21. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
To see Victoria Falls at its mightiest (and smokiest), March is the time to go. Catch a sunrise over the falls in the morning together, but prepare to get soaked as you get closer to some lookout points on the trail!
Perhaps go on a helicopter ride over the falls to see them from above, check out the Zambia side of the falls (but don’t forget your passport!), take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, or even get your adrenaline pumping by going ziplining over the gorge or white water rafting.
For an epic addition to your time at Victoria Falls, definitely book a safari drive and bush dinner at the Stanley and Livingstone Private Game Reserve.
For a lovely stay, check out Batonka Guest Lodge. They can arrange things like game drives, visits to the falls, etc. Plus, this place has a restaurant for dinner and a refreshing pool, and the rooms are great for your stay.
22. Egypt
Want to explore the pyramids, Red Sea, and Nile River in Egypt but don’t want to battle the extreme heat? You’ll love checking out Egypt in March instead of the hot summer months.
Cruise down the Nile to explore places like Aswan, explore the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, take a dip in the Red Sea or sunbathe on its beaches, stare in wonder at the pyramids of Giza, and visit the exciting city of Cairo!
Between the history, food, sights, and more, you’ll fall in love with this enchanting African country.
For a lovely stay in Cairo, check out the St. Regis Almasa Hotel in Cairo.
23. Morocco
Between colorful cities like Fez and Marrakesh, charming riad hotels, enchanting mountains, and the chance to spend the night under the stars in the Sahara Desert, you’ve got a fantastic honeymoon in Morocco.
Early spring in Morocco is a great time to visit for its more comfortable daytime temperatures versus the height of summer.
Be enchanted by the sights, smells, tastes, and more as you explore the beautiful country of Morocco on your honeymoon. For a delightful honeymoon in Marrakech, check out the Riad BE Marrakech. And for a desert stay, check out Desert Luxury Camp.
These are the best March honeymoon destinations. Whether you want to explore big cities, relax on the world’s best beaches, or you want to get adventurous, this is where you want to honeymoon in March.
Which place would you most like to visit?
