Uganda is in the middle of its dry season during this time of year, meaning you’ll have a great chance to spot mountain gorillas at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or go on a safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park without all the rain.

For the wildlife and adventure-loving couple, a visit to the Amazon Rainforest is a must. Our time spent at Tambopata Research Center in the Tambopata National Reserve in the Amazon Rainforest in Peru is still one of our favorite travel experiences to date.
The lodge itself, Tambopata Research Center, is a 3-walled lodge, meaning you have an open wall to the jungle. Don’t worry, there are bug nets! However, you’ll have the most epic sounds of the jungle at night to lull you to sleep.
Then, there are many activities you can do during the day from visiting the Colorado Clay Lick to hiking in the forest, and more!
August is also in the middle of the dry season, so while yes, the Amazon Rainforest can be rainy at any time, you have better chances of spotting wildlife and not having hikes canceled during the dry season.
