For adventure lovers, there are ample hiking trails and waterfalls to chase! Watkins Glen is epic for jaw-droppingly beautiful waterfalls, and you can even spot Ithaca Falls in the town of Ithaca itself.
You also can’t miss a sunset cruise on one of the lakes, and perhaps take some time to explore the brewery scene here too.
This gem in New York truly has so much to offer for a nice, beautiful romantic escape.
For a hotel along the lake with epic views, check out the Inns of Aurora Resort & Spa.
2. Charleston, South Carolina
This magnificent port city in South Carolina is full of cobblestone streets and colorful houses to admire.
Charleston is a great place for a honeymoon with amazing things to do in and around the area like visiting the Waterfront Park with its iconic pineapple statue, having a beach day at Folly Beach or Isle of Palms, strolling along Rainbow Row with its charming pastel homes, going on a food tour of the city, and even going on a boat cruise.
For a hotel in the historic part of the city that is full of romantic charm, opt for The Charleston Place. The rooms are delightful, and you’ll love both the spa and rooftop pool to chill at after days of exploring the city.
3. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Yes, South Carolina makes the list twice for the best honeymoon destinations in July! But honestly, July is a lovely time to visit Myrtle Beach. So, if you’d prefer just a relaxing beach getaway, opt for Myrtle Beach instead.
Aside from beach bumming all day, you can also check out places like Broadway at the Beach or Brookgreen Gardens during your time there.
4. Seattle, Washington is One of the Best Honeymoon Destinations in July
For one of the best places to honeymoon in July in the Pacific Northwest, definitely check out Seattle. For starters, July is typically the warmest and driest month to visit, meaning you may actually have clear, sunny days and can spot Mt Rainier from a distance!
This city is well known for its craft brewery scene and coffee culture, so partaking in that is a must. Aside from that, you’ll enjoy fresh seafood, the iconic Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass, and even a day trip to Bainbridge Island.
5. Glacier National Park, Montana
For those who adore mountain and lake views, wildlife watching, and a bit of adventure, you’ll love visiting Glacier National Park for your honeymoon. This is typically the best time of year to visit as most of the Going-to-the-Sun Road and other roads open up and you can explore most of the park!
You can easily spend a week in Glacier going on scenic hikes like to Grinnell Glacier or the Highline Trail, kayaking on Lake McDonald, white water rafting on the Flathead River, driving Going-to-the-Sun Road, and spotting the stars in the perfect night sky.

For a romantic, fairytale honeymoon, a stay at the luxurious Thornbury Castle is a must.
7. Croatia is One of the Best July Honeymoon Destinations
While many honeymooners certainly opt for the likes of Italy or Greece for their dreamy getaways, Croatia has quickly become a popular beach destination in Europe.
A visit to Dubrovnik is a must to see the city walls and enjoy the beaches in the area. However, there are so many great islands and coastal cities to explore like Hvar, Korcula, Vis, and Rovinj.
Spend a few nights in the picturesque town of Rovinj, where you can even take a day trip to Venice! For a honeymoon hotel near Rovinj, check out the Monte Mulini Adults Exclusive Hotel which has several pools, 3 restaurants, a beach club, and a spa.
8. Corsica, France
Located above Sardinia in the Mediterranean Sea, Corsica is an idyllic France honeymoon destination. This is a great place for a road trip around the island to explore the local vineyards, hike in the mountains, and even visit the city of Bonifacio.
But, being an island, you know the beaches here are amazing. Swim in crystal clear water and perhaps go snorkeling or diving together on your July honeymoon.
For a honeymoon room with a view, check out the Hotel Casadelmar. It is located outside of Porto-Vecchio and the views of the Mediterranean are spot on. It also has a fantastic spa, 2 restaurants, and a pool.
9. Greek Islands
Greece is certainly a popular place to visit in July. While the weather is hot, the beaches of the Greek Isles are refreshingly perfect. But if you want to avoid the crowds of Santorini and Mykonos, opt for some slightly lesser-visited spots.
Enjoy the stunning Zakynthos for its amazing beaches, fun caves, and even the intriguing Venetian Castle. Or, if you prefer, there are plenty of places to escape the crowds while wandering along Greece’s largest island: Crete.
In Crete, you can enjoy hiking in the mountains, relaxing on the many delightful beaches, and even exploring the museums, galleries, and markets in the city of Chania.
For a great place to stay, Casa Delfino in Crete is a fabulous hotel with a spa, splendid views of the surrounding area, and is within the heart of Chania- perfect for exploring!
10. Valencia, Spain is Perfect For Your July Honeymoon
This city sits on the southeastern coast of Spain and is perfect for your July honeymoon. If you want to sightsee, you can check out places like the Valencia Cathedral, Torres de Serranos, the Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias, and the Central Market of Valencia.
However, if you want beaches, you can enjoy those too. You can also enjoy the beaches and hiking trails in Albufera Park. Another great thing about Valencia is that you can start here and take the ferry from the port to other Spanish islands like Ibiza and Mallorca to continue your honeymoon.
No matter your interests, Valencia has a bit of everything! With chill beaches, amazing cuisine (paella is famous here!), an exciting nightlife scene, and the seriously charming Old Town, you won’t run out of things to do here.
While Valencia certainly sees its fair share of visitors in the summertime, thanks to its low chance of rain and plenty of sunshine, this Spanish city makes for a great July honeymoon escape.

After many months of wedding planning, having a serene honeymoon at the beach sounds perfect. Thankfully, there is no shortage of beach locales to enjoy during your summertime honeymoon.
11. Tahiti, French Polynesia
This popular honeymoon destination is lovely to visit in July. With warm temperatures and drier weather, you can enjoy sun and sand during a luxurious honeymoon to Tahiti.
Some things to do in Tahiti during your stay include swimming, snorkeling, and diving, as well as hiking and venturing to waterfalls, learning to surf, and, of course, staying in an overwater bungalow.
I mean, who doesn’t want to wake up and jump directly into the ocean? If you stay at the InterContinental Resort Tahiti, you can enjoy an overwater bungalow with an outdoor lounge area with access to the lagoon. Enjoy the views and peacefulness of this Polynesian island escape.
I’ll be honest with you the Caribbean is not typically a great place to visit in the summertime. Summertime brings on rain and hurricanes, meaning it can be quite risky to plan a July honeymoon to some islands that lay in the path of tropical storms.
However, Curacao is part of the ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. Being located in the southern Caribbean near South America, these islands are pretty great to visit year-round as they don’t typically get hurricanes.
Curacao is a lovely island with plenty to do including snorkeling and Scuba diving at the coral reef located offshore, exploring the city of Willemstad, and visiting beautiful beaches like Playa Lagun.
For a great place to stay, consider Baoase Luxury Resort. With luxury villas and suites (some even have their own pools!), you’ll enjoy this romantic resort on one of the best beaches on the island.
13. Fiji is One of the Best July Honeymoon Destinations
With dry, sunny days and all the island vibes, you’ll enjoy your July honeymoon visit to Fiji.
As I’ve mentioned in the June honeymoon destinations post, Fiji is in the middle of manta ray season this time of year. Between May through October, you have the chance to swim with manta rays and be awe-inspired by their beauty.
As a bonus, Fiji has plenty to do on land as well including waterfalls, lush jungles, and great beaches to explore. The Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is a great place to stay that even has overwater bungalows.
While Belize is typically in the middle of its rainy season over the summer, it actually has a “little dry season” during late July and August.
Therefore, July can be a great time to visit Belize! In fact, we visited Belize in the middle of July 2021 and had a fabulous time on the beach! You can go explore the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, snorkel at the Belize Barrier Reef, cave tube, swim in a blue hole at St Herman’s Blue Hole National Park, and more!
For affordable overwater bungalows, you’ll love the all-inclusive private island resort of Thatch Caye.
Belize is a small country, but packs a punch with adventure and beautiful beaches, making it perfect for your July honeymoon.
15. Lombok, Indonesia
Bali is certainly a popular honeymoon destination this time of year, especially as July is during the dry season. But, if you want to skip the huge Bali crowds and see another incredible Indonesian island, opt for Lombok.
With its gorgeous beaches, exciting surf spots, serene temples, and tons of beautiful lookouts, you’ll fall head over heels for Lombok.
Plus, if you want to explore further, the Gili Islands are off the coast of Lombok, making it a fantastic day trip idea! If you want a mix of beaches/relaxation and some adventure and mountains, then Lombok is the perfect July honeymoon destination for you!

If you stay in a conservancy, you can also enjoy things like horseback safaris, walking safaris, nighttime safaris, and more!
In between safaris, definitely make time to relax at your luxe accommodations and perhaps indulge in spa treatments. We absolutely loved staying at Ilkeliani Camp. Located on the Talek River, you can see wildlife from the lodge. Plus, the tents are spacious and even have viewing decks from the main bedroom.

You’ll start to notice a theme amongst some of these adventurous honeymoon destinations: East Africa is a great place to visit in July!
Uganda is no exception. If you’ve ever wanted to trek to see gorillas in the wild, you can partake in that at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You can also witness chimpanzees and several other primates at Kibale National Park. And, as a bonus, you can even enjoy a safari in the African savannah in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Uganda has no shortage of incredibly romantic and adventurous honeymoon destinations, making it idyllic for your July honeymoon.

Okay, I promise I have places outside of East Africa on the list of adventurous honeymoon destinations. But Tanzania is a fabulous place to visit in July too!
Enjoy epic safaris in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and even Lake Manyara National Park. Serengeti sees the Great Migration this time of year, and you cannot miss the action-packed Ngorongoro Crater.
For a fabulous safari honeymoon at Ngorongoro Crater, opt for andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge.
Aside from safari locales, be sure to have a little beach time in Zanzibar to wrap up your Tanzania honeymoon.
For an epic July honeymoon idea, Iceland is a perfect place for a road trip. The roads are open and weather conditions are fairly good, meaning you can enjoy a nice long road trip along Ring Road, stopping in places like Vik, Akureyri, Reykjavik, and more!
Explore the hot springs, beautiful beaches, mountains, and stunning waterfalls during an Icelandic road trip honeymoon.
Plus, you have ample daylight hours for all of it! July sees about 20 hours of sunshine per day, which means you can even alter your schedule for sightseeing so that you can visit popular natural attractions in the middle of the night when nobody else is there!
For a unique honeymoon retreat in Iceland, opt to go glamping at Original North!
20. Banff National Park, Canada
With vibrant blue glacial lakes, stunning mountain peaks, and luxurious hotels, you cannot go wrong with a July honeymoon in Banff.
There are several beautiful lakes to explore like Lake Minnewanka, Lake Louise, and even Moraine Lake. Plus, you can go hiking and potentially spot wildlife, relax at Banff Upper Hot Springs, and even take it easy while riding up the Banff Gondola for epic views.
You can do as little or as much as you’d like during a honeymoon in Banff. Regardless, a stay at the Fairmount Chateau Lake Louise is a must. This hotel sits next to Lake Louise and has some of the best views of the surrounding area.
A Brazil honeymoon is a great idea in July. For starters, you can expect comfortable temperatures in Rio de Janiero during the day and cooler evenings, perfect for exploring the city and visiting places like the Christ the Redeemer statue and Copacabana Beach.
July is also a good time to visit the Amazon Rainforest, as it is the drier season. Explore the vast flora and fauna of the Amazon Rainforest as you spend several days hiking, boating, and taking in all the scenery. It truly is an epic place to visit.
And while you’re in Brazil, definitely head to Iguazu Falls to see some of the most magnificent waterfalls that lie between Argentina and Brazil.
For a dreamy honeymoon hotel in Rio, you’ll want to stay at the Copacabana Palace. It is located along the beach with amazing views! Plus, this 5-star hotel has several restaurants, a spa, and a pool to relax in when not exploring the city.
These are hands-down the best honeymoon destinations in July ranging from sun-drenched beach destinations to stunning mountains and more!
