5. Shampoo Bar
If they travel carry-on only, they probably know the struggle of keeping liquids to a minimum. Grab them this shampoo bar. Do they have a favorite city? Get them this customized iPhone cover with the city map to remember their fond times there.
10. Ear Plugs
This is so simple but so necessary. Again, planes get noisy, they may hear traffic outside of their hotel, one of them snores, etc. Either way, these earplugs are perfect for blocking the noise and getting a good night’s sleep.
These locks are perfect for backpacks and more to keep belongings safe, but also good for TSA.

Travel Gift Ideas for Carrying Their Things
We all have to put our things in something, right? It may as well be a good, quality something. Here are the backpacks, suitcases, and more that we love.
19. Carry-On Travel Backpack
If you know Chris and me, you know we are strictly carry-on only. It not only saves a ton of time at the airport between checking bags, waiting for it at baggage claim, etc., we also don’t have to worry about the airline losing our luggage. These are the top 4 carry-on backpacks that we recommend used by family, friends, and us!
This is the bag we’ve used for four years now for trips lasting a weekend to several weeks. It fits more than you’d think, is carry-on only sized, and zips like a suitcase making it super easy to get things out. It also includes a laptop sleeve, and we love the flap that folds out under it to zip the straps up and make the bag into a duffle, making it easier to load into the overhead bin.
If you’re looking for Christmas presents for couples who can’t decide between a backpack or suitcase, this is the perfect compromise. For those who want the option of a backpack, but may have limited mobility or back issues, this is a great way to still have a soft, carry-on backpack but is able to be rolled around.
First of all, this bag is adorable. It comes in super fun colors making it stand out from the rest. I also love the organization. This bag has so many zipper pockets that they may not even need packing cubes! It also has anti-theft zippers already built-in and the straps can be tucked into the back to turn into a duffle bag as well.
When it comes to organization, this bag has them covered. From the laptop sleeve to tiny pockets for storing chargers and small electronics, this is great. It even has a pocket on the waist strap for keeping their passports close at hand in the airport.
20. Rolling Carry-On
Don’t worry if they’re not into backpacks. We also love these rolling carry-ons.
Away is great as it has a portable charger for their phones, built-in anti-theft and TSA approved lock, and has an interior compression system, meaning they could squeeze a few extras in there.
This bag is perfect for lightweight travel, so they can meet the carry-on luggage weight restrictions on many discount airlines across Europe and Asia. Also, for some places like in South Africa, luggage needs to be soft for flying into safari destinations.
We loved having this during our most recent trip to Southeast Asia. This sling is perfect for carrying a phone, water bottles, camera, wallet, and more while going over the shoulder for extra theft protection.
I’ve been using this bag for a few years and love it. First of all, it fits so much stuff for being pretty small. I’ve easily squeezed our passports, phones, kindles, wallets, GoPro, and more. It has a slash-proof exterior, RFID blocking credit card and passport slots, the zippers clip onto a hook to make it harder to just zip open, and it has metal in the purse strap so it can’t be slashed and stolen.
23. Packing Cubes
I wasn’t sold on packing cubes at first, but now I’m addicted. I don’t go anywhere without them. And these are perfect for both backpacks and rollaway luggage. Stay organized with different cubes and keep clothes neat.
Good Gifts for Travelers Who Love Technology
Because gadgets are always fun, and these will help them up their travel game. If you’re looking for some of the best gifts for travelers, these fit the bill.
With all the time spent waiting on flights, sitting on said flights, or trains, boats, tuk tuks, etc., they’ll want something to pass the time. Get them a kindle to load all kinds of books on and stay entertained during the travel downtime. We love this paperwhite one with plenty of storage for books plus it is backlit so they don’t annoy people on the plane with the reading light on.
Planes aren’t exactly quiet. Loud dings for the flight attendant, crying babies, people chatting, etc. No matter the noise, cancel it out with these amazing headphones.
If the high price tag of the Bose headphones is too much, check out these Audiotechnica ones! I use these to edit the podcast, and it has high-quality audio. At only $70, it is much easier on the pocketbook, and it definitely tunes out loud noises while traveling.
And as a cheap and clutch travel gift for couples, these are fantastic so they can watch movies, Netflix, and more during long flights without having to share headphones. Seriously, this is amazing!
28. Phone Lenses
Maybe they are photography nerds who want to pack light or they just love cell phone pictures but want to make them more professional looking, these are great lenses to clip onto their phones to create better photos.
29. iPhone Tripod
Couple photos are almost impossible to take without a selfie stick, a long-armed person, or asking a complete stranger to take photos and probably not do a great job. Instead, get them a tripod to take professional photos without the obvious selfie look.
For the couple who are also #digitalnomads, they will love and appreciate a new computer to take with them. iPads are also great for reading books, looking up things to do, etc. on the go.
31. Phone with a Great Camera
32. GoPro Hero 9
Whether they love skydiving or snorkeling, GoPros are just fun and super easy to use. This one is our favorite where they can see what they’re filming while filming it. It also has a great camera to use for photos and is waterproof up to 33 feet. Be sure to get them this fantastic handgrip that can be used as a tripod!
Are they learning about photography and want to up their game? This is a great professional camera for those starting out as it still has auto settings as well as manual for those trying to experiment and learn how to take great quality photos.
34. Sony DSCW800
And for those who are beginners who want to take quality photos with great zoom, this is the camera for them. We still use a point and shoot camera on occasion and love the quality of the photos from it, and it can be taken out of auto mode for those starting to learn about photography.
Books That Make the Perfect Presents for Couples
Make them feel inspired and empowered to get out there and travel more!
Who doesn’t love the story of Tony and Maureen Wheeler traveling across the world on a shoestring, starting a business, and basically being the most badass couple ever? They’ll love the inspiring and unique story of the couple behind Lonely Planet.
Mike and Anne Howard of Honeytrek not only are a really fun couple IRL, but their book will also give your friends all the wanderlust feels. Follow their adventures and advice as they walk through some of the best destinations for couples around the world.
More than just a coffee table book, this list is a fun one to start prioritizing the most extraordinary places across the globe that they’ll want to travel to ASAP.
They will love flipping through the pages and picturing themselves in the world’s most beautiful and romantic places such as the temples of Bhutan or the beaches of Mozambique and more!
If you want unusual travel gift ideas for couples, this book fits the bill. While not a travel-specific book, Windows on the World is perfect for the couple that loves wine and loves to visit wine destinations around the world. Kevin Zraly walks you through wine regions of the world, which wine typically comes from those regions, guided wine tastings, and more in a non-snobby, tell-it-to-you-straight kind of way. Seriously, it has made us more eloquent sounding when we go wine tasting but doesn’t make us sound stuffy or weird.
Similar to the wine book above, a unique gift for couples who travel and love coffee is this book. James Hoffmann goes in-depth all about the coffee regions of the world and the process of creating the perfect cup of joe. Whether it is using a Vietnamese coffee maker or how to find the perfect coffee in Colombia, if they love to travel and drink coffee, this is the book for them.
We love this book so much that it was our wedding guest book! It takes you through the best journeys including the best road trips, best beaches, best adventures, and more! For the adventure-loving couple, this is the perfect gift for travelers.
42. Comfortably Wild
Mike and Anne Howard are back with the best glamping destinations in North America! Perfect for 2020 travel and beyond, this book will give you all the glamping inspiration to book that next romantic getaway! There are over 70 destinations including unique places to stay at vineyards, hot springs, and more!
All the Extra Gifts for Couples Who Travel
43. Travel Compatible Hair Accessories
For the ladies who’d like to get dolled up for a night on the town, I love these accessories for travel:
Not only is it compact and easy to put into a carry-on, but it has a switch to change voltages so they don’t fry the hairdryer, the outlet, cause a fire, etc. when they use it overseas.
This has been my go-to straightener for a while, both traveling and at home. It changes voltage automatically, making it easy for travel. It also is easy to curl hair using it too!
44. Water Bottles
Buying water all the time can really put a dent in the budget, especially when it’s at an airport. So grab some great water bottles for your favorite couple. Here are our favorites:
I’ve taken my S’well water bottle with me everywhere from Europe to South Africa. It’s perfect for insulating liquids, keeping them either hot or cold for a long time. Plus, the large bottle is big enough for a full bottle of wine! Perfect for the beach!
Having a water bottle that is easy to pack away for flights and hiking is key. This one folds up nicely leaving plenty of space in that carry on when they aren’t using it.
If they’re going to a place where tap water isn’t safe to drink, this is a great water bottle to keep them safe. The filter removes bacteria and protozoa, leaving them with clean water. Plus, it is now stainless steel to use less plastic!
45. Neck Pillow
I love a good neck pillow. And the ones with memory foam are even better. They can stay comfy on the plane, train, car, etc. with these amazing neck pillows and it keeps couples from fighting over one of them obnoxiously using the other’s shoulder as a pillow (…speaking from personal experience).
46. Luggage Scale
Carry-on backpacks are great and all, but some discount carriers actually charge extra or force them to check their bag if it weighs too much. The best way to prevent this madness is to know what the bag weighs ahead of time.
47. TSA Precheck/Global Entry
Feeling extra generous or have a credit card that includes this as a perk and you’ve already got it? Get your favorite traveling pair the gift that keeps on giving: the ability to not lose their minds at TSA. Yup, they’ll clear customs or security in a breeze with this amazing gift idea.
I love packing cute clothes for photos while we travel, but sometimes they wrinkle in the suitcase. Have no fear, though. This is a great gift and perfect for travelers who want to look sharp on their journey.
So here you have it! All of these gifts are sure to wow and excite the couples that love travel in your life.
